the nature of monet's gardens

monet's gardens are nature, but not natural. There is an element of the flowers growing themselves and monet giving up control of their growth. But monet did put colors together that he wanted and planted rare and exotic varites that you wouldnt find in Giverny naturally. But im not sure i can decide then what nature is. I cant come up with my own definition... there are a lot of places that i have been that have been altered by man, and still consider them nature... so i cant use that as my guide line... maybe it is a matter of planting systematiclly and having plants not indigenous to the area that that is making me think monet's gardens are not natural... but they are beautiful... thats for sure
