today's lecture on the steps of the Sacre Coeur was most inspiring....
i was particularly intrigued by the connection between spirituality and artistic brilliance. we all have moments of inspiration that come from deep within, but these instances are fleeting...ephemeral. it is our job as artists to become hyperaware of these moments and their source of birth. this idea is very similar to spiritual highs....this constant effort to reach that ecstasy of inspiration. in a sense, it is training the mind for a heightened experience. when we become more aware...more in tune, we can capture those moments and extend them for longer periods of time......
